Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions for the Indian Navy SSC Officer posts:

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. A candidate who is found to be married or marries during training will be discharged and liable to refund all pay, allowances, and training costs.

All qualifications must be from a University incorporated by an Act of Central/State Legislature in India or declared deemed university under UGC Act 1956.

The age limit (as on date of birth) varies for each branch. The candidate must have been born within the dates specified in the vacancy table above. There is no specific age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC mentioned in the official notification for this SSC entry. However, the following relaxations are applicable:

• NCC 'C' Certificate Holders: A relaxation of 5% in the cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting is granted to candidates holding a valid Naval/Army/Air Wing NCC 'C' certificate with minimum 'B' grade, provided they have served for at least two academic years in the Senior Division. The certificate should not be dated prior to 01 January 2021.
• Merchant Navy & CPL Holders: Have different age windows as specified in the "Special Entry Note" above.

The selection of candidates is a rigorous three-stage process:

1. Shortlisting of Applications: Based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree (BE/B.Tech or PG). The Navy uses a normalization formula to level the playing field across different universities. Candidates are shortlisted for SSB in a ratio based on vacancies.

The Indian Navy SSC Officer selection does not involve a written exam. The entire evaluation is done through the SSB Interview. The pattern is as follows:

The final result is declared in the form of a merit list on the official Indian Navy website.
