UPTET is a qualifying eligibility test; the number of candidates qualifying does not represent recruitment vacancies. Successful candidates receive a TET certificate valid for lifetime, which is used for applying to teacher recruitment drives conducted by UP Basic Education Board and UP Secondary Education Board.

Candidates opting for both papers (Primary & Junior) will have to pay the combined fee as per the official notification. Fee can be paid online through SBI I‑Collect (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking) or via SBI E‑Challan at any branch of State Bank of India.
Age Limit: No upper age limit for appearing in UPTET. Candidates must fulfill the educational qualifications as prescribed by NCTE / UPESSC.
Languages Available: Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit (candidate can choose any one language for the language section).

- Certificate Issuance: Candidates who score above the cut-off are issued a UPTET Eligibility Certificate, which is valid for lifetime for applying to teacher recruitment in UP.
- No Interview: UPTET is a qualifying exam; selection for teaching posts is based on separate recruitment processes (like CTET or UP Teacher Recruitment).

Note: All questions are objective type with four options. No negative marking. For Junior level, Mathematics & Science section is for candidates opting to teach Science & Maths; Social Studies section is for Social Science candidates. Candidates must choose accordingly.
- Child Development & Pedagogy: Growth & development, learning theories, inclusive education, child psychology, teaching methods.
- Language I & II: Comprehension, grammar, pedagogy of language development (based on chosen language).
- Mathematics (Primary): Number system, geometry, mensuration, data handling, pedagogical issues.
- Environmental Studies (Primary): Family & friends, food, shelter, water, travel, pedagogy of EVS.
- Mathematics & Science (Junior): Algebra, geometry, science concepts (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), pedagogical issues.
- Social Studies (Junior): History, Geography, Civics, social & political life, pedagogy of social studies.
For detailed syllabus, candidates are advised to download the official notification PDF and refer to the syllabus section. The commission may release updated syllabus closer to the exam.
UPTET 2026 Admit Card will be available for download from 30 June 2026 onwards on the official UPESSC website upessc.up.gov.in. Candidates must log in using their registration number and date of birth to download the admit card. Exam city details will be released on 22 June 2026.
The provisional answer key will be released after the exam; candidates can raise objections within the stipulated time. The final result will be declared on the official website, and successful candidates will be issued the UPTET certificate digitally. No separate communication will be sent by post.
- Step 1: Visit the official UPESSC website: https://upessc.up.gov.in/ and click on the “UPTET 2026” link.
- Step 2: Click on “New Registration” and fill in basic details (name, mobile, email, etc.). A registration ID and password will be generated.
- Step 3: Log in using the registration ID and fill the detailed application form – educational qualifications, choice of paper (Primary, Junior, or both), language preferences, etc.
- Step 4: Upload scanned photograph (recent passport size, white background) and signature as per specifications (file size and dimensions mentioned in notification).
- Step 5: Pay the application fee online via SBI I‑Collect (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking) or generate E‑Challan and deposit cash at any SBI branch.
- Step 6: After successful payment, review the entire application and make corrections if necessary before the final submission. The correction window is available till 01 May 2026.
- Step 7: Submit the form and take a printout of the final application and fee receipt for future reference.
