Candidates studying in the final year of their engineering degree may also apply provisionally. Such candidates must produce proof of passing the engineering degree examination by a specified date, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. A candidate must undertake not to marry until the completion of full training. If found married, his candidature will be cancelled.

Candidates must be physically and medically fit as per the stringent standards prescribed for commission in the Indian Army. The selection for the SSC Technical 67th Men is a rigorous, multi-stage process designed to assess both intellectual and officer-like qualities.

1. Shortlisting of Applications: Based on the percentage of marks obtained in the engineering degree. A cutoff may be applied, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for the SSB interview.
2. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a 5-day SSB interview at designated Selection Centers (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, etc.). The SSB process comprises:
   • Stage I: Includes Intelligence Test (verbal and non-verbal) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates who clear Stage I proceed to Stage II.

4. Final Merit List and Joining: A final merit list is prepared based on SSB recommendations and medical fitness. Important: For the SSC Technical entry, there is NO written examination conducted by the Army. The primary assessment is the SSB Interview, which tests personality, intelligence, and officer potential, not engineering subject knowledge.

However, the initial shortlisting is based on the candidate's academic performance in their engineering degree. Therefore, the core subjects of your respective engineering branch form the basis of your eligibility.

The intelligence and psychological tests at SSB assess cognitive ability, reasoning, and personality traits. Broad areas include:

• Verbal Intelligence: Analogies, synonyms/antonyms, word formation, sentence completion, verbal reasoning, directions.
• Non-Verbal Intelligence: Pattern completion, odd one out, figure series, analytical reasoning, spatial visualization.
• Psychological Tests: These are projective tests designed to assess qualities like leadership, responsibility, initiative, sociability, and emotional stability. No specific syllabus exists; authenticity and positive traits are key.
