The National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the release of admit cards for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026. This examination serves as the gateway for admission to Sainik Schools across India for classes 6 and 9 in the academic session 2026-27. This comprehensive guide provides all verified details regarding the AISSEE 2026 Admit Card, examination pattern, syllabus, selection process, and important instructions.

The total number of seats varies for each Sainik School and is distributed among different categories. The seat matrix is school-specific. Generally, 67% of seats are reserved for students from the state where the school is located, and 33% are for students from other states and Union Territories. Within these, reservations apply as per Government of India norms for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories. 1. Written Entrance Examination: The first stage is the AISSEE 2026 offline exam.
2. Merit List Preparation: Based on the marks obtained in the written exam, a merit list will be prepared school-wise and category-wise.
3. Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a medical fitness test at designated military hospitals.
4. Final Admission: Final selection is based on the merit list and medical fitness. Admission is offered subject to seat availability in the chosen schools.

The AISSEE 2026 Admit Card is available for download from the official NTA portal from 12 January 2026. The admit card contains crucial details like candidate's name, roll number, exam date, exam time, exam centre name and address, photograph, and important instructions.

2. Click on the link "AISSEE 2026 Admit Card".
3. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth (as registered).
4. Enter the Security Pin/Captcha shown on the screen.
5. Click on "Submit" or "Login".
6. Your AISSEE 2026 Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.
7. Verify all details carefully (Name, Photo, Exam Centre, Date, Time).
8. Download the PDF and take 2-3 clear printouts on A4 size paper.

The exam will be conducted in various centres across all states and union territories. The exact centre address is mentioned on the admit card. Candidates are advised to visit their exam centre one day before the exam to familiarize themselves with the location. Reporting time is generally 90 minutes before the exam start time. Gates will close 30 minutes before the exam.

The result of AISSEE 2026 is tentatively scheduled to be declared in February 2026. It will be published on the official website in the form of a merit list (school-wise and category-wise).

Counselling Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling at their respective allotted Sainik Schools. The counselling process involves:
